Looks what my wife ordered... UPS guy pulled up and honked handed me this box and I'm like what the heck is in this box a dead animal? He laughed pointed to the side and said nope 25lbs of cranberries. I said oh I'll take these :)

Its by overwhelming insistence and a little poking & proding she's canning more cranberry juice.:drool

Sliced out my name and address... Lots of creepers on the internet.

Wife said 25lbs for $45 - way cheaper than in the store. :)

I love cranberry juice! Anybody tried drinking it for urinary tract infections? Is it because of the cranberry juice's diuretic properties?
I believe it has more to do with how bacteria adhere to the bladder wall. I'm pretty sure the research now says that it's good for prevention but not-so-much for treatment.

I just felt the need to re-new this thread because it is CRANBERRY HARVEST TIME in Wisconsin!!

You can google for fresh cranberries or go to this web-site for a listing of Wisconsin Cranberry growers: http://www.wiscran.org/products/where-to-buy-cranberries/

Some of the farms will ship fresh, unsweetened cranberries anywhere in the Continental US.

RECIPE????
You all are in luck because I seen her make this cranberry juice and asked.her questions.

For 1 quart jar she rinsed 1 cup of whole cranberries in hot water and added to the sterile quart jar. She then added 1/4 cup of white sugar and poured hot spring water over top of the cranberries and sugar in the jar, leaving head space. She then capped the jars and water bathed them. When they came out of the water bather, she told me they have to sit at least two weeks, then they will be ready.

Wow - simple enough. I have got to try this. Thanks so much!

Yep and she does grape and blueberry juice just the same. I'm not to fond of blue berries in anything but her grape juice is awesome. Just uncap slide the lid over a little bit and pour into a glass. When empty the chickens & turkeys get the berries/grapes.

Here's a pic of blueberry (which she really likes) and grape juices. Sometimes simpler is better. Who needs all those chemicals that I can't even pronounce the names of in store bought juices? :(
