Why Thank You, hon! Another year closer to the big five-oh...um, I mean seventeen! Got a ton of things I should be doing but since I think this most special day should be a national holiday, I'm just doing was has to be done and chillaxin'!

I fell in love with the buns' coat colors and am having a hard time resisting the urge to give them cute names.

We'd never heard of Alco before moving here and love the place! Usually, if we can't find something somewhere else then they've got it. We need to get better about just stopping there first.

Found a dwarf Arkansas Black Spur apple tree when we stopped at the high-dollar feed store yesterday to get the mineral licks...they want $30.00 for it BUT it's a gorgeous tree so maybe it will come home with us today when we get out running with mom. It will fit in her Suburban but I'm pretty positive it won't fit in the Buicktruck.

They do have pretty coats! It'd be hard for me not to name them also. We had an Alco when we were in Truth or Consequences, NM. That is the only one I have seen. Hope you have a fun day on this National Holiday!!!!!

Brrrrr...had a high of 55 today and am not complaining...it's the way it should be! We hit the 80's yesterday.

Had a good day yesterday even though we didn't get the gh benches or the apple tree. The salvage place keeps the shelves, benches, pallets, etc... at a different location and they close a half an hour earlier than the place we take our cans to. Oh well, now we know and we've got a date with Mom to go back this coming Wednesday. And we'll be getting my Arkansas Black Spur apple tree on Tuesday, doc said we'll make it fit in the Buicktruck, just like we did the peach tree that my aunt gave us last year. It took up the entire back of the car and the root system kept me company up front in the passenger seat... we had to lay the back of the seat down to make it fit. It was an interesting ride home and I so wish I'd taken a picture.

The trip wasn't a total loss though as we stopped at the State Line Restaurant (Thayer, MO) and had dinner. We've been bragging about the place for close to 3 years and were glad they finally got to eat there. They loved it and that just made my day!

I had a good laugh when I turned the computer on this morning...every third Thursday in April is National High Five Day so my b-day actually fell on a "holiday" this year!

Had some rain earlier today and am thrilled that there were no leaks in the Bun Barn roof system and the roll-up blind kept the girls dry, too!

Mom and Dad dropped us of yesterday and were able to check the rabbits and their accomadations out and they loved it. Dad suggested we get something to be able to close up the open east side for really bad weather and it was cool as we're already discussing the idea...plus adding a small extension/over-hang on that side. That's been the only "hindsight" of this project and we can live with that!

Well, I'm outta here for a bit...doc goes back to work this evening and we need to oil #1's ears before he leaves. Did them yesterday and she already seems better/happier today.

NO!!! I'll be extra special when everyone gets a weeks paid vacation for my birthday! I'm campaigning that for next year!!!

Dangit but I was about to go into seizures...the net has been down here since 7 p.m. last night.

It was crazy windy today...15 mph winds with gusts of 30+ so I wasn't able to bag up the shredded leaf mulch or burn garbage.

So I opted for a small building project...a pvc gate for the orchard fence. Got tired of walking all the way to the garden end gate and decided it was time for one up by the driveway. The best part was that the plans I intended to use where from a link that the funny farm 6 had posted and no way to access it since the net was down.
Since I already had an attitude about the "no net", I figured I'd just wing it and it gave me a wonderful excuse to blow off some steam by pounding in some posts.

Still have some finish work to do on it but it's up and I think it'll work just fine! It didn't turn out half bad, if I do say so myself!
