TBH, a pig would be tough for me to get through - it's a big animal! Chicken, lamb and venison fawn suits me better.

Slaughtering a hog isn’t that hard. Rendered lard is great to cook with. Home made sausage for breakfast!

I butchered ours. I'm not much of a butcher, I could use more practice. The meat was good and is a faint memory now. I really liked hocks -n beans and the chops were good also, ribs so so. That's about all I remember from my sawsall and pocket knife butchering session.

I don't mind castrating the little guys - but I'd be terrified to do a big one. I'd be afraid he'd hold a grudge, lol!

I saw that episode and while it worked for feet trimming - I can't see any animal tolerating being castrated because they're flipped on their back.
