Lol I have some huge fleeces, I zip those and leave my coat open.

The first snow of the year is exciting even for us up here- I can only imagine how exciting snow is down there! And I bet driving in the snow is interesting there too- I'm sure there are zero snow tires!
 
Thanks tortoise! I really am like a dog with a bone when I need to know something. I honed my expertise in detective work on a sneaky first husband, lol! He never knew what hit him!

It was pretty cold this morning, but it never got below freezing. The snow has melted and the sky is blue for the first time in nearly a week. I neeeeeded some sunshine!

The news of the day is .... WE GOT AN OFFER ON THE PARENTS HOUSE! Even more - it's a full-price offer...which blows my mind. Who wants a gutted house? But, the people who want it have family in the neighborhood and they own a construction company so refurb is not going to be a problem for them. I'm giving in on closing costs, but it's worth it to me to be sure we don't have it sit on the market for months. This money will allow the folks to get into assisted living without digging into their 401K.

Even with the good news - I am exhausted. Not a good "mom" day.
 
Woohoo!!! Sorry it hasn't been a good day for your mom... At least you got some good news that'll help them out immensely.
 
That is awesome news on the house! HOORAY! That will be a headache to go through the buying/selling process, but you will get it done. Sorry you had a bad day.

@NH Homesteader there was a 16 car pileup in San Antonio today. People here do not know how to drive on ice and snow. There is no road equipment. We are idiots.
 
I can only imagine. People in CT don't even know how to drive in the snow (and they don't know how to plow either). And they get snow all the time! 16 car pileup isn't actually that bad for a snowstorm in Texas. I thought it might be more like 36!

People here are a bit lost when it snows too. When we first came over here, we had a decent snow fall on the Caha pass on the border between Cork and Kerry. We went up there so DS can play in the snow and found about 4 abandoned cars. And the snow wasn't that deep or heavy. It was just a bit more than Ireland is used to lol

Our snow is gone - was actually mostly gone by that afternoon. But, we've got our memories, lol! (and a few pics)

DH and I got out for a couple hours yesterday. I had already lined up mom/dad's caregiver because I thought I needed to go to the parents house and meet with the realtor to sign some things, but turns out we didn't have to. Sooooo - since we already had a "baby-sitter" we took advantage of the time and did a little grocery shopping and caught a matinee movie.

I'm trying to get caught up with critter chores, but not being totally successful. Thankfully, the critters aren't holding it against me too much. I did notice that a piglet is limping on a back leg - can only assume that maybe it got stepped on. :hu Still glance at their rear-ends whenever I'm outside in daylight to see if I missed any goobers! So far, so good, but it's kinda dimly lit in their area.

I think most of the little fall garden survived the weather. Fingers still crossed on a couple things.

About to get mom in the shower, then it's time to get ready for next week. I only work thru Wednesday - yay! However, I save up a lot of 'chores' to do on my Christmas vacay that I will have trouble getting to without a care-giver for the folks. I think my sweet care-giver is looking forward to a few weeks off!
 
My new motto:

I've seen this a gazillion times - but until now it never meant as much to me.
