Heather, has something maybe happened at school that he's not telling you for whatever reason?
 
We found out finally that his teacher has not been at school. She is not always the one we drop him off with. Usually one of the other preschool teachers lines them up and then they all walk to class together. No one mentioned she was not there. So we think thats part of the issue. The other is he was out of school a week and had to make up a week worth of testing in 2 days. So TONS of worksheets. He complained that he was just too tired after all those worksheets to go to school anymore. It was too much for a 4 year old I think. He had just gotten over the flu. So thats what we think was the problem. We shall see how tomorrow goes.
 
Ok short post because i am in SHOCK. So we are here with my parents. We cannot leave them alone obviously BUT my husband is WAY under payed. He just got an offer sent for a job in MONTANA!! for 24k more. I am torn. I could maybe bring a couple of my goats but I would have to get rid of all my chickens and my heifers. dance, scouts, American Heritage Girls, our church. But its more security than we have now. We face losing a job as soon as my husband finishes a migration project. My parents have been pushing us to look elsewhere. I don't know if they would move though. I am going to be sick now and then I'll pray. Opportunity and terror all in one little email.
 
WOW - congrats on his offer. It's always nice to know you're wanted. But, I don't envy you for having to make this decision. My DH has had that happen several times and it's such a tough decision. He accepted a temporary position once and was away for 8 months - it was hard! But, I think it might be harder to pick up and move an entire household - especially a multi-family one with critters too.

I'm sure you can come to the right decision for your family after much thought, reflection and prayer. Good luck!

We moved from one province to another 16 years ago to improve our financial situation, so I have an idea what you are looking at--except we only had a baby and a toddler but no animals.

Dance, Scouts, and church are everywhere (I'm Canadian so don't know what American Heritage Girls is, but I assume it's everywhere as well). Finding a new church takes time, but you will find it. Leaping into the unknown can be wonderful, even if it's terrifying right now because you are still in shock.

Security is huge, and depending on your local job market, this may be the decision-maker for your family.

If I can offer one bit of advice, as someone who moved several times as a kid, your kids will be fine if you are fine. Your attitude and outlook will totally colour theirs--this can either be a big family adventure that will pull you all together and bring you to a new promised land, or a real downer filled with fear of the unknown. Start slow: talk frankly with your hubs and figure out what each of you really want out of life, then if you both think this is something you could do, research the new place. Find out what's there for your family and how you will make a smooth transition.

And... if this ISN'T the right thing for your family, there are always other opportunities out there if you pray and seek. :hugs
 
If this is what God want for you family, He'll give you peace about it and provide everything you need. If not, He'll make it clear as well.
 
Praying for you!!! I know what you mean, that is a HUGE change... God knows what he's doing though ;)
 
Not posted in a bit because we have been so dang busy but today everything stopped for a bit. Chore were done and my husband took me out for a special trip to Michaels. I needed some craft stuff to keep the kids occupied. We get a call to go to Walgreens and get burn supplies. I ask whats up. Dad caught himself on fire. not he burned himself. He literally was on fire. He tossed dirty gas from cleaning his chain saw blade on dying embers and a bit of wind picked up and WOOF. His coat was coated in gas and they could not put the fire out. His face and neck are severly blistered but he refused to go the ER.

We got home with tons of supplies and he is in massive pain and telling us where to go about the ER. Mom is trying to calm him down and he is acting all shocky. Pour some coke into him and get him to eat a little bit after I had slathered burn cream with pain relievers in it. Still refusing tonight.

My husband looks at me and says..." you know we can't buy a house now right. " I have been looking at houses that are near the farm and have land. I guess its not meant to be. Accident after accident after accident. We cannot be even 20 minutes away. I would worry constantly. So for now we are back to plan B which was finish up the walk out basement to the farm house so there is space enough for all of us.

So going through early menopause, anxious like made, Parents are trying to kill themselves and me with carelessness, siblings blaming every accident on me and I am supposed to be calm and just stop being anxious. Ummmmmmm yea not going to happen. I don't even know how to feel anymore. Parents getting older is uncharted and very stressful territory I think.
 
OMG - what a horrible thing to happen. Burns are bad - real bad. He'll need lots of fluids.... when you've lost skin, you lose fluids. And the pain.. nothing worse than a burn to hurt like he((....

I"m so sorry this happend. I know how hard it is to watch your parents go through that decline. My parents are into their 80's now and it's not getting any easier.

If you haven't already, try honey on the burns. Hope your dad is OK. :hugs
