Yeah, I know this is serious. Very...deadly serious. Pain isn't as bad as it was 24 hours ago. Still tender, and I'm not about to go eating any corn on the cob or taffy anytime soon. LOL! Problem now is, it's swollen. Need to get that down. I'll re-read through this thread again for suggestions on that too. I had this happen once before, much more severely, to the point I couldn't see out my left eye my face was so swollen. Besides the infection, and slight flushness/tempurature, I can't sleep. Just can't get comfortable in any possition.
For the record, I'll be 45 in August. Now for the bad news. I'm 6' 315lbs and I also stupid enough to smoke. Ironically, about two weeks ago, I was doing some community service work (part of my agreement to recieve general assistance from city) at a health fare. I talked to a dentist, because I know I need to get some work done. Her suggestion was as others have said is a local dental college. Right now I just can't get there. No money for bus and my truck is still not working.
I know, because I had a tooth pulled about a year and half ago, that it only costs $150 to pull on, that's not bad. So I'm hoping if I make enough on an the estate sale I've been talkinga bout, I can have three or four of the really bad ones pulled at once. If I can get to the dental college that could be done for free even. Just a matter of getting there. But from that experince a year and half ago, no dentist I know will touch the tooth until the infection is brought under control.
Right now I'm pumping in fluids (fruit juices) and vitamin C tabs. I think I might have some goldenseal around here some place, have to check into that. Also applying cold packs to help keep swelling and temps in check. Now if I could only sleep, I'd be really happy! Not very easy to eat either. I tried having a pb&j sandwich yesterday, think more ended up on me and the floor then in my mouth.
