ksalvagno's farm journal - Time for change

I am going to agree with everyone else about the barn and goat envy. My hubby promised the kids and I goats this year and we can't wait. They are going to show in 4-H, but we have to get a shelter together and fencing up first. They already show rabbits and chickens but can not wait for the goats.

Congrats on all the babies, they are so cute. Right now I am living vicariously through all of you who have goats. Congrats!!!!

Beautifull babies!! Oh my, thaqt klittle spotted doe is the one I want!! ;) I just love spots!! Great work on saveing the first one. Whew! I would have probably freaked out. LOL

Thanks! I gave them their BoSe shots this morning. Since I didn't know her due date, I only gave Dahlia her CDT and BoSe shot just 2 weeks ago so I will probably give the kids their CDT shot in the near future too.

Well, I tasted Shamise's milk. Still tastes bad but not as bad so I guess I will wait a few more days then taste it again. Her little buckling is having no problems drinking it. :D

Thanks. They are really starting to be fun. They are feeling more energy and starting to jump around their pens.

Today I'm boiling an old layer and going to make chicken soup. First time trying to make my own broth. Will see how it turns out. Just seems like a good time for soup. :D

You will get some of the best broth you ever had! I just stewed up the last chicken we had in the freezer. Can't wait until we get our own meaties to raise.
How are you guys up north faring with this weather? It's just awful here :/

edit - nevermind the above question - i just saw your answer in my own journal :P

OMG, triplets! If my goat had triplets I would die of delight!

Congratulations!

Oh my, that little spotted doe is the one I want!! I just love spots!!

Good luck with your soup. Home made soup is so nourishing.
