Ahhhhh - your Carson is just too cute. I believe he's an old soul - you can just see it in his eyes.

Awww Your wonderful stories about your dogs, past and present, made me think again about getting us one. I popped into a few charity shops today, looking for books, and in one I stopped to read about an abused dog that they helped. I got chatting with the volunteer that worked there and he gave me a phone number for a lady that runs a rescue centre not too far from here. I'm going to arrange to visit her sometime soonish and see how things go. Maybe she'll have the right dog for us.

We always had dogs as I grew up, Bullteriers, and they were wonderful, but then when I was in my early teens my mom spotted a newspaper ad for an accidental batch of Bouvier x Staffordshire Terrier pups… For a few years that dog was my best friend. We lost him in 1998 and I still miss him so much.

What a mix, lol. But, he looks like a great friend!

They leave such a hole in your heart. Two weeks since I lost Molly and I still look down to see if she's at my feet. Always joined me on the computer time. Sure miss my little gal. A 10# minpin, who was not the hyper, barky many are. We shared 15 loving years.

Yesterday while the chickens were in the garden, Carson went with me while I fed them. He did great. Curious, but listened when I said No. He has been given a few chicken lessons, this was the best one yet.

He is sporting purple paint from helping grand daughters paint a chicken coop.
