is all i can say today. went out and checked the garden this morning-all was good, checked it tonight and the tomato plant that has the redish tomato had all the leaves missing! and 2 of the other tomatos are knocked over. no dog prints-that was the first suspect, but no other prints either. hmmm, any guesses? looked for creapy crawlers for 1/2 hr and didnt find any.

i moved the chicks outside and heard a comotion and looked outside and dh bulldog had gotten loose and he and his blue pit had chaced the chiks out of the cage. the bull dog will run around the cage till they either squeeze out or if they are too big to get out, he gets them to try to get out and grabs them by the head and pulls them threw. so i had 25 chicks at the start of day and 15 after that, 5 more showed up. we found 2 bodys. so that accounts for 22 chicks. will see if any more show up tomarow. i plan to remind dh of the last dog of his that wouldnt stop killing. :smack

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hubbys step dad was rushed to the university hospitel. he has cancer in his throut. and he was having trouble breathing, so they sent him up there, they are going to trake him in the morning, and dh mom isnt even going up to be with him. (cause it is just a minor surgery). she just blows me away. she didnt even go up with him. i am more upset than she is! i just feel:he and :idunno i have been crying and she dont give a sh*+. and no, it isnt her way of dealing. i would like to think that she is hoping that if she ignores it, it will go away. but she went shopping and to play BINGO today after he left. and she said she was going to go to the bar after BINGO. *sigh* :hit

First off... :hugs :hugs and more :hugs

The tomato plant that was stripped of leaves sounds like a tomato hornworm paid a visit. I've had them decimate tomato and pepper plants in record time and they are super hard to spot on tomato plants as their coloration helps them completely blend in with the plant. :barnie

That was my first thought, and I looked for them but didn't see any. And I had 2 other plants knocked over, cages and all. I can only think larger birds, maybe they were after the worms or the little green tomatos. But there were no animal prints on the ground.

well i am back. been a long couple of months...

dad did have surgery to take the cancer out. they had to take his voice box out. they told us that it would be a 7-10 hour surgery and it was 19. and then mom kept calling my husband to come help her, and when he found out she was leaving him at home alone (after he came home from surgery) to go to the casino. i threatened to call adult protective services. so now his sister is mad at me. oh-well. this thursday he starts 8 weeks of chemo and radiation. and that will happen @ 90 miles away. (i hope the price of gas goes down)

my computer crashed.

i sold my sheep. and i kept my big nanny and billy goat, and were just given a pair of pigmy goats. i love those little boogers! got some guineas, cause we had a mink attacking the chickens. and we have decided to sell the horses. with all the work my husband has been missing we just dont have the funds to care for them properly.

well... enuff whining for now i think i will look around and see what i missed...

:hugs Sorry things have been so rough for ya :hugs to your Dad too!

Supposedly* when the refineries switch to their winter mixture, the price of gas goes down. I for one am not holding my breath though :/

If I got goats, I'd probably go with the pygmies, cuz they are just so cute! :love

:hugs Good to hear from you though!

dad has been doing real good. they put in a feeding tube, and he has gained 20+ pounds in the last 4 weeks! they cut him from ear to ear, and all the way down across his collar bone, 200+ stitches on the outside. he wrote on his board he can be frankenstin for halloween.

but after the chemo and radiation start....:(

and my mil knows how to guilt trip my huband (tom) and she wants us to make the trip up there at least 3X a week.. in a big full size truck.

mine arent too bad. they do sound the alarm when something moves that they dont know, or if the cat walks into the coop with me (he wont touch the birds). i got them cause something was getting my chickens again- my coop is chain link with poultry netting over the top. whatever it was, was killing them and only taking what they could pull threw the chain link head first.

and i didnt realy want the goats at first, but the husbands boss had gotten them for his kids and couldnt keep them pened. so he asked if we wanted them so that way his kids could come see them. so do you tell the big boss no? but i am glad, they are very personable. and mo isnt old enuff to breed yet so mr stinky (hopefully) bred daisy last week. and ninny was born march of this year, so she may have babies next spring also. cant wait to see tiny ninny babies!

one of the catahoulas had puppies, she only had 2. they are the biggest puppies i have ever seen! at 3 weeks old the male is 14 inches from the base of his tail to his chest.and my 5 lb scale wont weigh them.
