I was just looking up info on rose hips! 👍 Looks like Rosa Rugosa is a good choice for my area, but its suckering and spreading habit is a concern. Seed is expensive!
Buy two plants. Don't bother with seed. Wherever there is sufficient water, they will spread. I give away starts every spring.

Many fruits and berries have good amounts of vitamin c. Kiwi, papaya, cantaloupe, blueberry. Strawberry, etc. Sweet red peppers are, too. Kale. I wouldn't see an issue with plenty beyond citrus. Cactus fruits, too....in case you move to a desert area. 😁
