Great find! Lucky you!

I have found the rubber rings for the old glass top jars at a local hardware store. Its a Canadian company - Viceroy Rubber and Plastics Limited. I have a few of those jars (just a few, alas!), and also use them for dry storage.
I buy those for my (old Canadian size canning jars that aren't made anymore) Gem jars.

The Gem rubber rings are 78mm, are these the same size as your jars or are yours standard regular/wide mouth jars? If they are standard mouth jars you could always get the rubber rings from Tattler :)

WOW is right!
I told hubby and he says he remembers watching relatives cut inner tubes to make seals. I don't know if that is safe but it seemed weird to me.

Here is a pix of part of the wall. All the boxes on the shelf were full.

I coudn't get a pix of the other shelf system but there was another wall system like the one in this picture. The boxes in front of the shelfs were full too.
It took 3 truck loads to get this all home. Now by garage is full and the fun begins.

Thank you all for the replies. I've been so excited these past few days with this stuff. I started washing them tonight. WOW!! MY wife thinks I'm offically nuts. :weee. My answer was in my best Jeff Woxworthy voice. Why yes I am!! :) Now that the mason jar collection is complete it is on to phase 2 of this project. Finish off the rootceller.

Wow! I hope your garden fills them up well this summer.
eta- You might put dry veggies in some of the ones that aren't used for pressure canning.

Oh my goodness! :drool. When we cleaned out the old wood and storage sheds, we found some stuff in a broken pile under the way-back of the workbench. In the pile was a bunch of rodent evidence, old rusty something-or-others, and a few of these jars. Most of them were broken, but I found three jars and three of the glass lids. They are blue-tinted with very bubbly glass. :love I have a "thing" for old mason jars. Have you found a source for the seals? I think lehmans has the old style rubber ring seals... I'm sure other canning supply places have them too.
