You're doing a great job! Your stitches look nice and even. To me both sides look the same. Are you sure you're switching from purl to knit? Either way, I think it looks like it'll be a very warm and squishy scarf!

Well, even if you're doing it "wrong," one good part about it is that it won't curl. I've tried making scarves in stockinette stitch and the edges always curl in. Your stitches will result in a nice scarf, whatever you want to call the stitch!:D

p.s. I always thought of knitting as pointing the needle up towards the ceiling, while purling points the needle downward more.
