I made a mistake abi, it was a marsala cream sauce. (I had it out.) It was soo yummy though.

I googled hazelnut and marsala cream sauces though, there are lots of recipes out there.

so the pigz figured out their house and slept in it = A+
and they arent dead yet = A+
sun is shining = A+

but some how i overslept = C-

today we have a break from the rain so its all about gravel, planting potatoes, and getting some seeds going.

Yay live pigs! We cooked a whole mess of bacon at my moms yesterday and it made the whole place smell wonderful! What an aroma that stuff has........

accomplishments from yesterday:

1. decided i was man enough to take kai's stitches out
2. went and got little scissors
3. promptly stabbed myself in the leg with the scissors as i was leaning down to see the pup's belly. stabbed myself bad. like. bad.
4. was promptly informed that i was not mature enough to get anywhere near the puppy with anything sharp because we "wouldnt want anyone to get hurt." *me in the background hyperventilating and hopping around, pup placidly wagging her curly little tail*
5. poured some tequila on the wound (mine)
6. heard TBM calling the vet in the background signing me up for a $40 round trip drive to the vet so "someone sensible" could take her stitches out... while i was rapidly becoming weak and seeing stars from loss of blood.
7. was informed that i should just "man up" and put some neosporin on it.
8. went thru about half a box of bandaids trying to fix it.
9. determined i probably did not need an amputation and was glad that i had a tetanus shot a couple years ago.
10. decided i might live and hobbled out to work.

but i had a great day outside. got the rest of the strawberries planted, the rhubarb set in, tucked in a tray of swiss chard that sprouted, planted some 'mater seedlings, set some onions, hauled some stuff, and even had time to start another feta.

today i'm making the expensive drive to the vet so the puppy can have someone sensible take her stitches out.

pigz still arent dead. i think they are going to make it.

goats are still mad the pigz are here.

everyone who walked out of the garage yesterday had a mouse hanging out of its mouth - including a bunch of chicksn. good job, Shine! good job, hennies!

chickens are nuts - about half a dozen of them want to set nests but they wont sit on the SAME nest. i think all the eggs are probably dead at this point so i need to take them up and thats a yucky chore.

my little duck Happy was not on her nest this morning. she made it most of the way thru her set so i'm not sure why today she got up. my other little duck snowball/lady gaga/bianca/pigpen is still glad as could be on her nest in the garage. she helps me milk every nite and is just adorable. of course now that i love her, the fox is sure to get her. sheesh.

so thats whats going on. in process i still have post setting, tater planting, and cutting and tilling under the winter cover crops - if it ever dries out enough!
