I see it now....I enter the first gate and get flogged by roosters and knocked over by arguing does. Then I go feed the buck and he smacks me with his horns. Then I go check on the pigs and they nibble on my toes. Then I got to change the water in the goose pasture.....and I'm never heard from again.
And it is all YOUR fault!
yeah pretty much thats how my days go. but them pigz dont get close enough to my toes.
;-)
i LOVE the geese - i could have a whole field of them. they are such easy keepers. we only feed a little corn during the summer - the rest of the time they are out roaming around doing their goosey thing. and we always know if there is any malfeasance going on out there. thats why i want to be the
grand poobah of gooosenstein .
but as you know they can be VERY aggressive. *OFG looks at scar on her arm* yep... very aggressive. i tell the delivery guys that i can call the dogs back but they are on their own with that gander....so they need to stay in their trucks and honk for me.
so
today is more fencing work. couldnt get the new goat yard finished yesterday - TBM's work schedule has been all over the board. but i got a lot of work done so i was happy.
i'm working on a new planting area for some butternut squash sprouts. i'm right on the line of having them ready before the first frost. so i'm positioning them so that they can tumble down the hill ....and i can use the fence to create a covered area if we get some cold nites. i hope it works. if not - the seeds were free (from last years squash) and then that area will be ready for next year.
SunSaver - if you're out there - THANKS so much for the tip on using a high concentrate Dawn+water spray to kill off the squash bugs! i go out every mornin' and spray the bejeeesus out of them bugs. whoot! it totally works. yay!
anyway hopefully today i can get those goats moved. Dahlia might not make it if i cant get her off Debbie - she could be grill fodder if she doenst knock it off. grrrr......... i had half a mind to sell her, but she's so well bred that she's going to be an A+ milker. we only have Sunny for a couple more weeks and then there is gonna be some slim pickings as far as milk goes. Nibbles is slacking off also and when we move her into the new goat yard i'm going to start milking her only once a day. all them goats are totally nuts right now - every night they are out there trying to kill each other. the "heat" season totally makes me roll my eyes.
*turns and yells: hey you goats! knock it off with the knockin' each other in the head!*
thats the word here. bug killin', weirdo goats, and nothing but work work work.
