Ohiofarmgirl'sAdventuresinTheGoodLand-where ya been? whatcha been doin

I don't think you can ever have enough barn cats. At my place I lose at least one a year so I have to keep adding. I suspect that coyotes or loose dogs get them and there is just no way to keep them locked up. Do you have a low cost spay/neuter place? I'm so grateful that we have a couple around us.

I picked up some chickens that we took to Spring Maple Enterprises to be processed and they had puppies there (Mennonite farm as well as chicken processor). One was soooo cute. They were asking $75 for them but she told me they would take $50. I was so ready to take her home if she was free. We already have 4 dogs so really don't need another one but I keep thinking about her. Good thing I didn't take a picture of her.

Sorry you are having such hot, humid weather but I am THRILLED it is gone from here for a day or 2. Now we have the outskirts of Tropical Storm Lee with a forecast of 8" of rain... and the weather is fabulous right now! Yeah, cloudy, but coolish with amazing breezes.

hey AL! great to see you up and outside
:-)

yep - we already have a heat index of 101*.....for crying out loud. and we goofed around too much this morning so them meats will live another day. hopefully. its just plain cruel out there and i'm about to go and start the sprinkler for the hen yard.

Abi - hey! where'd you get the pic of me!? ha ha ha ha ha

Karen - whats one more? truth be told i got the puppy madness bad...zoikes! Kai is getting so big i need something smaller to snuggle. ha!

lemme see if i can find the camera. we just had "three cheers all around" b/c little Scruff used the litter box for something other than sleeping in.. whoot!

hee hee! I love kittens. They're such dorks as babies!

We praised Amira too much for litter use as a baby. She still comes and announces when she uses it. Of course, she's of the delusion that I will change her litter entirely every time she uses it.

Need a kitten? I have six of them, 6 weeks old! The momma keeps going into season when her litter is just one week old! We still have not managed to wrangle her into a carrier...or live trap...or anything to get her spayed (she was half wild when she decided to live here). About had her the last time, but in the end, we failed and I had puncture wounds from bites on both wrists. :/ We even had our winter coats on..and it was, what? 90 degrees outside then?? We thought we had all the bases covered..... The 'Kittens' sign goes out tomorrow. But I'd be happy to ship one to you, Abi..and to you, OFG!!!

You might try tuna in the cat trap Marianne, it is supposed to work the best. If they have been caught in a cat trap before it won't work though.

I have an extra kitten too......bought kitten chow today for the dang thing. I need a kitten like I need another hole in my head.

right on both counts, SD!

M - tuna works like a charm in those live traps. no cat can resist it.

SD - *heavy sigh* its been a h*ll of a week. but little Scruff is very happy downstairs...... for heavens sakes.

Abi - *OFG turns and looks at Little Mo* .....they are dorks when they grow up too!

;-)

DS has been bugging us for a kitten. Too bad they turn into cats and he will lose interest. It's been over 20 years since we've had a kitten here. I still have scars....
