DH is on his way home with the rabbit hutch....AKA new chicken or quail hutch. He said the owner had two extra guys at his house at the time to help them load it up! So that was three guys, my dad, my brother, DH and two oldest boys (though I am not sure the boys were much help.) He said we are going to have to leave in on the trailer until he can gather up some more muscle men to help him unload it!! I can't wait to see how big this thing really is!!

HOLY SMOKES!!! I JUST GOT THE DEAL OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!! :celebrate
If this is any indication of how my year is going to be then I am in for an AWESOME year!!!
It is to dark to take any pics of the hutch right now...but this guy should not have taken less than $500 for this!!!!!! $300 for material and at least $200 for his time! He sold it to me for $80!! DH says the guy has one more that is even bigger but he still has to get rid of the rabbits before he can sell that one. So, I am keeping my eyes peeled for the other one to be up for sale!! DH said the guy said the other one is like 16' long...this one is 12'.
It has three different two story sections. I can put 6 different types of birds in it...three different types of birds, or different ages.
This thing really is HUGE!!! And very well built as well!! I am just glad it is DH's dilemma as to how to get it off the trailer!
I can just see all of the possibilities in my head for putting quail in a section and then putting my BJG peeps and then pullets in the other two sections.
It even came with three rabbit feeders and I was just asking DH for another rabbit feeder because I wanted to put one inside of our big coop and put sunflower seeds in it for my BJGs for a treat.
 
Congratulations!! It sounds like you are still getting Christmas presents.

Congrats on the hutch! Sounds like a great deal! I have a quail hutch...made really well...I think there are either 12 or 14 seperate pens...with watering system,nipple waterers...roll out egg trays....got it last year....FREE! Yup..and I dont raise quail.....yet! LOL

That is awesome!! Now go get you a bunch of different quail to fill it up!! I am putting BJG eggs in the 'bator on Minday and quail eggs in later in the week so I am sure I will have my hutch filled up in no time!
 
DD on couch with laptop is precious. I just have one question. How long did you let her have your spot?

Can't wait to see pics of your hutch. Sounds like you got a major deal.

Congrats...we got our rabbit hutch for FREE from a neighbor who was trying to get rid of it. The previous owner raised rabbit beagles and his own rabbits to train the beagles. Well, they moved out of state and couldn't take anything with them so when we made friends with the new neighbors we just kept our ears open. We were building the chicken coop and tim stopped by to see what we were doing and said, aw shoot I had a rabbit hutch you could have had. I said that's okay we'll take it if you still have it! Two days later we got rabbits and a hutch!

Can't wait to see pics of it! Sounds really cool...are you going to paint it and decorate it all pretty??? :D

I only let her sit there for about 30 seconds and then I kicked her out!!!:plbb
