Chicken pens are almost immune to the wind. I'll need to go. Check where the chairs are. I think they are already knocked over. If so they will be fine.
It is STILL going, I am not going to go open the coop until almost 7,,, it wont hurt the hens to sit in the dark for a while

So, question. as responsible property owners, we keep all brush cut back 100 feet from the house, keep fire hazards down, not just for us but for the safety of the neighbors,
Whats up with Wa. Stater land?? dont they have to too?
all the brush behind this wood shed is state brush, this is an older pic and the brush is much bigger now, but,

🧐 🤔

More of the same- I got up at 3:45, the wind guts started at 4
it is ugly out there right now, the roof keeps popping from the wind oddly coming out of the south, which tells me it is circling around the Olympic Mt.'s

We'll that nasty snow came down heavy for about 2 hours. I had to go rake 3-4 inches off the silkie roof and find the boards to prop the roof to make it even more stable. You know, just in case it decides we need more.

Roads are crap around here. Hubby doesn't think he can get to work tomorrow morning because we know how long it takes them to get it all plowed at least.

Roads were packed snow in lighter traveled areas. Slushy to tire cleared in others.

We only went just into the edge of town and the auto parts store. Meridian wasn't even plowed that I could see.

Someone who shall be forever shamed hit "wipe" on accident yesterday when he started his truck to warm it before scraping. The almost 2 inches of ice disagreed and bent the wiper blades horribly.

Hubby doesn't have snow proof boots so he sucks for helping around here. Next time we're at feed store I'm fixing that. The Bog boots I use are wonderful and my feet stay warm though I do wear wool socks year round. I get at least 2 years of use out of them.
