My son made cranberry relish.....it is really good. I only bought one bag of cranberries tho, I hope it is enough. Everyone will just have to take two spoonfuls.
RM, my family laughs when I say this.... but I really think a GOOD cranberry relish sets off the holiday meal. (Some of it is just junk.) Last year I canned 6 quarts of cranberry relish, and it was gone in a flash! This year I got flack because I didn't make any. :D

PP what did you want to do, dip them in the cheese balls ;) ?

2dream that is what I figured also, baked to long!

Ya know FC........I really feel like ya'll do so much more than me. But ya, I will take it a little easier now the holidays are over. Going to start snowshoeing right after the new year!

Keljonma this was the first time I have ever had it. Pretty good. But at 2.49 a pkg for cranberries, it will be a holiday thing!

I created a micro enviroment for the chickens today by pulling all the snow in a circle under the tall pine tree into a bank encircling the lowest boughs. Hope they like it.
Pulled the snow off the chicken coop and run roofs. Fed and watered the chickens, blew 6 eggs out to make some more decorations!

I am glad everyone had wonderful christmas's!

LOL on others doing more----UM---hmm...I ain't having to pull snow up anywhere to give my chickens a fighting chance at life thru the winter !! Seriously with that winter weather you have, right now you have it MORE hard than me. I was in the 60s on Christmas day. Fighting snow and helping animals is hard on ya I am sure!!!

Snowshoeing...you lucky gal. I did that up North. I was a downhill skier and cross country skier. Loved it. No snow here....which actually is fine with me..HA HA

Roosmom, I have a question about blowing the eggs. How long does it take you to blow 1 egg? I get so frustrated. It seems to take forever then I get over anxious and blow the side out of the egg because everything seems to get stuck. Do you have this problem? Am I doing something wrong? I use the tape and I poke a hole in the top and then the bottom with a small needle. I take a larger needle (the one I use for injecting a turkey) and make one hole larger. I am using chicken eggs - but the shells are hard and thick. Maybe I just need more patience and practice.

I use a baby nasal aspirator to blow out my eggs. DH also drilled a hole in both ends with the smallest bit on his dremmel. Then I stick a needle down in to scramble the yolk...then blow it out with the aspirator. Then I use the aspirator to suck up bleach water and wash out the inside of the eggs.
Maybe your hole is to small??

2dream, there is a secret to it....actually a couple secrets!

1 - You need to make sure the eggs are kinda warm and fresh
2 - Make a corkscrew about 1=1 1/2 inches long

You need to buy a small spool of 20 gauge wire. Cut an eight inch pc from it. Wrap it around an ink pen a couple times. Not close together. make sure you leave yourself enough on one end for a handle.
After you poke a hole in each end of the egg, thread the corkscrew down the proper hole and piston it up and down carefully, twist it around also a few times. You have just scrambled your egg. Twist the corkscrew back out carefully so as not to make the hole to much bigger. Rinse the egg under some warm water, position your mouth over the smallest hole and blow.
The reason I say proper hole is because.....if you are blowing say six eggs to decorate and give to someone, then you need to make sure the larger holes are all on the same end.

Keljonma that was ocean spray. Everything is expensive here :(

FC the few times I tried cross county skiing I spent more time on my butt!! :D There is a knack to that I just cant learn.

PP, I would have to say that is cheating! :p

2dream, I guess I just never thought of the corkscrew thing as being a secret. I am sorry. Dont bother with the tape either. I was going to do the tape if I was going to try and cut the egg length ways.
I rest my elbows on the counter, hole the egg with both hands my fingers kinda look like two C's facing each other and my middle fingers also supporting the egg.
My Hubby is not allowed to blow them anymore. He broke three of them trying  So dont feel bad!! And dont get frustrated. Just try the corkscrew thing. Doing that will also open one hole a little larger than the other, easier blowing.
