We cannot spend our way out of this financial problem. We need to grow our economy by growing businesses. They will create new jobs here at home and products to sell around the world. Bailing out the "Big Guys" is not he way to help our economy. Many of them are outsourcing jobs and materials to other countries. Small businesses are not doing this. Unfortunately, small business (and the average American) no longer have anyone representing them in Washington.
What about the business tax credits for each new employee a small (or large) business employs? In fact, the only "pork" I have heard about involves tax cuts for businesses. But, I need to look at it all a lot more carefully.
So far:
*aids to states for Medicaid
*tax cuts for families earning less than $200,000 ($500/adult)
*electronic medical records. I work in healthcare. Paper records are seriously wasteful, time consuming and inefficient
*allowing those receiving unemployment to be eligible for Medicaid
*money towards primary and secondary education
So far, so good. Probably we could argue all day and night about what got us here. And probably we would most of us be disgusted to be bailing out Wall Street and maybe even the Big 3 auto. But, as much as it stinks to be here,
something has to be done about it. So, let's at least give the guy (and congress) a chance. Doncha just love democracy?

BTW, the House of Representatives has not yet passed it. So, it's not a done deal quite yet.
