Selling eggs to morons

I had a lady tell me she grew up on a farm. She told me that once she caught an egg when the hen was laying it, and she "watched the shell harden right in my hand!!!" Seriously. Casting my pearls before swine to try to tell her otherwise!

Im gonna follow my chickens all day and try to catch a soft egg.

LOL She probably saw the bloom on the egg dry. I had a hen lay an egg in my hand once (in-between squawking at me furiously!)

On a very very few occasions, I've seen them misfire (lay a shell-less) egg.

true, that. but, I've never seen a rubber egg grow a shell!!!

I don't sell eggs anymore. It's not worth it. I would sell them as an add - on if I was if I had a farmers market booth or a store, but iyad not worth the hassle or extra feed to keep extra hens just to sell eggs. I try to have enough for us and my parents, that's about it.

I just bought a new hatchet 2 days ago -- some roos are waiting for me to add them to the freezer. Not fun but, that's where chicken comes from! Time for more bone stock, too.

I've got some I need to do too....
