SufficientSelf Software Upgrade - Potential Downtime

Hey All!

It's time for us to finally upgrade our forum software to the newest version. The new version comes with some new features, better performance, more security, etc!

We're hoping downtime will be VERY limited... hopefully not more than an hour or two. That said, it's hard to know exactly how long it will really take until we're completely done

We'll hopefully be starting the process this evening around 7 pm PST.

It's not that different from how it was before. Post bookmarks are new, so are additional post reactions other than likes if you hover over the like button. Also, you can use emojis typed from your phone keyboard now.

I can use emojis from my phone? That's way cool! I like the new look.

What about the information in our avatars? Will that come back? I'm looking around, it's like coming home in the middle of the night and finding out all the furniture has been rearranged.

What are "push notifications"?

Push notifications are notifications sent directly to your device, I have a thread about them on BYH: https://www.backyardherds.com/threads/guide-how-to-enable-push-notifications.40125/

I edit a lot. Tend to post before doing a final critique... or go back to correct spelling/grammar errors. I think this new format is MUCH slower. Seems to take forever (well... ok... maybe many seconds!) for a post to actually show up.

The site loads quickly for me. Can you try clearing your browser cache?
