sweet, it's raining now. :) it looks like it will be raining a while and just enough to keep soaking in and not running off too much. we really can use exactly this kind of rain instead of those heavy downpours that we've been getting.

the fenced gardens are weeded at last. about six weeks later than normal...

now gotta get back to outside the fence a few gardens can use more weeding. at least i did get the big garden along the pathway mostly weeded a few weeks ago so it just needs some cleaning up in a few spots now and then i can get to the north garden which is the worst since i've not spent that much time there since last fall other than removing some of the worst weeds i've seen as they've come up. it will probably take me a week or two to get that all done and then it will be time to do some tomato canning and then the dry bean harvest will kick in. oh and somewhere i gotta get the garlic out and the peppers and some beans picked. watering tomorrow also gotta get done. good thing my todo list is never empty. :) my todo list right now has "Take nap." at the top.

i have a lot of Beaver Dam peppers that are already starting to turn so they can be picked at any time. i think i can give a few away to my nephew when he comes over this week and perhaps someone else...

there's a certain part in the middle of my back which never does well when i'm having to pull out really hard weeds and while i'm not doing that too often once in a while i still do it and then i yell at myself for doing it because i could do it another way and not cause myself pain. duh... :) so yesterday i did this dumb thing and slept poorly last night because i was hoping it wasn't going to hurt much. and so today i did get some ibuprofen out before trying to take a nap and did eventually conk out for about 45 minutes. feel much better now, but will do another round of ibuprofen before bed tonight.

i don't normally take any pain meds at all in the theory that when i need them i want them to work, plus i just hate having to take anything at all and that theory has been working in recent years. 400 - 800mg per day is my effective dose and i only go for a day or two and then cut off because it acts like caffiene when i withdraw from taking it and get bad headaches.

went out to walk around and see if i could flush out bunny but it wasn't around i could see so i hope it is gone now that i've removed most of the hiding places it had in all those weeds. it's chewing a lot of my garden (inside the fence!) up this year. :( i've not had one like this around and i blame it on myself for not getting things weeded and caught up - it probably thinks those gardens are it's home turf... i think i'm going to get the live cage trap out and set it up and see if i can capture it and also something that is nibbling on the tomatoes (maybe raccoon or groundhog). it's certainly been "One of those years."
