WA HOO FarmerChick

I was driving down what is a back road not often traveled other than by folks that live nearby here. It was around 9 ish at night, off in the distance I saw a owl flying following the road. Its wingspan was wider than my truck window. I suspect it was after some prey that might have went under my truck. This event took place over 5-10 seconds, but it too scared me, I lost sight of the road for 2 seconds while it was in front of me.
 
Well I am off today up to Harmony with Barb.

Barb is the gal who's horse just passed...poor Junior.

Well our horse friend up there said she has a nice bay gelding. Given to her SIL to ride but SIL is preggo right now and she figures she won't ever ride it again cause she wasn't that interested in the horse anyway---so she has 10 and decided to sell the bay.

Barb and I are hitting the road in just a bit to check him out.


Nothing much doing. darker type day, dampy chilly thing happening....come back Carolina Blue Sky !!! lol


I need to get some stuff done around the house but screw it, off to look at horses is way more fun.

well none of those horses were good for Barb

she wants a gelding, and the person said it was a gelding, got there and it was a mare...and a small one like 15 h Barb's last horse was near 17 h lol she likes them big like I do haha



well got another trip booked

Easter week at the beach. Oh yea......indoor pool at the campground so that is nice considering the ocean will be too cold...but alot of metal detecting for me, surf fishing for Tony and Nicole has tons of activities....so will be a nice trip I am sure.

almost all my trips booked now....just gotta find 2-3 more short places to go just for fun and not too pricey.


Gosh I love vacations LOL



well off to put up the goats, feed the barn cats etc

Hey, don't you know how hard it is to tell the difference between a mare and a gelding when they have it all sucked up? And to me, 15 hh is tall. Misty is 14.2, Stormy is 13.2 and Licorice is about 13. It's not as far to the ground if you fall off. :P

well long day

turned from misty damp rainy to nice sunny weather

went pool shopping this afternoon. My pool is 15 years old and the darn liner has a leak. I hate the location now cause I added that back tv room/mudroom onto the house for Nicole....and it came pretty darn close to the pool and it throws it into shade very quickly.

The metal is getting rusty now and I can't find replacement parts for the skimmer. ugh have to replace that now and it would mean trying to shore up the existing rusty metal around that hole etc ugh

I want to put it dead out in the middle of the backyard directly in line with the kitchen window so I can see Nicole as she gets older and can swim alone and I know the 2 kids her age on the road will be swimming also.

So I only have a small 15 ft round, enough to have fun. I am going to get a 18 round. Big enough. Cause I have to clean it and take care of it etc and I don't want a big one lol

man the stupid things ain't cheap! :( well with anything I gotta shop around a bit.

So working on that project to get the old pool gone and the new one in before May. which I am sure I can get done! :)




damn knee. having a hard time walking. when I sit for a bit it just stoves up tight on me. and my ankle on my other leg is bothering me cause I am walking funny and throwing weight onto that leg.....so I am falling apart hahaha

usually it gets better by now but it doesn't seem to what to cooperate....ugh




Bolt goes for his next puppy shot tomorrow and gotta get his nails trimmed. so get out the checkbook hahaha


nothing else doing...just waiting on super nice spring weather to hit and it seems like it is not far away

Yeah, I like short horses. Normally I use a mounting block to get on-it's easier on me because of my leg, but I like to be able to get on from the ground if I need to. You can't always find a log, rock, or whatever if you need to get down on a trail.

And I hear you about a pool. My pool is not very deep, and has the blow up top. No one uses it but me, and I wanted something I could care for by myself. It just needed to be deep enough for me to get wet in, not swim.
 
yea, LOL, many times on trail you have to find a big tree stump or rock haha I hear ya on that one

yea I bought my pool when single and just wanted something to get wet after a hard day riding to cool off.....then after getting married and starting the farm I used it for cooling off after a hard time in the fields LOL now with Nicole this pool will be the neighborhood kid pool and it will be my last one honestly I hate the work involved in taking care of it :P
 
Well seems like it is going to be an easy day! At least I will make it an easy day. :P

Got the "don't feel like doing much" thing happening already.

gotta call and get my dentist appt set up for my new front cap

gotta call my tax lady and see if she is done (wanna know what I am getting back sooooo bad lol)

gotta call and order my Aha Bra. I hate bras. Saw the info commercial and am going to order some to check them out....they seem so comfortable. Will report back how they are after they arrive LOL

Tony says there is a pool place in Mooresville....so I think this afternoon we might drive up and check out what selection and prices they have at that store.

gotta get some laundry done, you know the usual crap chores around the house.



well the stupid dog is so little it is getting thru my fence pasture alone the side of my back yard. Yup---it goes right thru the squares. UGH so gotta run to Lowes and buy small fencing and put it up alone 2 sides of my yard along the pasture fence. lol what a pain. I thought no way he could get thru that fence and yup, he fits right thru the holes.
So truly don't know if he will grow much bigger to keep from fitting thru the squares. Not sure --so easier to just go get the small fencing and run it along my pasture to keep the mutt in the backyard. Honestly, it is always something that is a royal pain like this fence and mutt ugh



I bought an electronice cigarette. Time to quit smoking now since I am hitting 50 this year. I pushed it far enough and the cost of cigs is horrible. Tony and I both smoke and it costs close to $3,500 per year for him and me.....wow what a savings.

I have to say this electronic cigarette is wonderful. Doesn't smell, smokes wonderful. I bought the lowest nicotine cartridge. I had the cig for 3 days. In 3 days I only smoked 3 real cigarettes!!! it is wonderful...it truly takes the place of a real cig. Those 3 real cigs I smoked was because my electronic cig was charging lol I can see myself quitting with this device. So going to get the old body used to a very very low dose of nicotine and then just quit in about 2 weeks.
I usually cough a bit thru the day (not much) but with this electronic cig almost all coughing is gone. And I think I might be getting a bit allergic to real cig smoke cause sinus was never great while smoking, but I noticed with the electronic cig I am breathing better actually!! who would have thought lol So for me I think this will be the perfect quit smoking tool. I went shopping yesterday without cigs in my purse...just my elec. cig. see for me to leave the house without cigs is a big deal hahaha but the elect. cig is enough now for me.
Good deal and fingers crossed I can walk this down and quit for good in a bit. reasonable price $40 each cartridges are cheap also. so way under what real cigs cost

so that is an ongoing process to quit smoking in a short while. well at least I got it in gear to quit :P




so that is about it today.....off I go to get the day started! :) off to get Nicole dressed for school!

Good luck on the quitting the cigs! I'm sure you will feel better! My little dog is an escape artist also, so we had to run a small rope from the door to the yard. It's one of those twisty things in the ground. Saves me the trouble of chasing the bugger!
