I have a terrible rabbit thats about to get canned. she's the worst doe I've ever had and it's time

Blanched another batch of green beans and loaded up the dehydrator.

Do you dehydrate green beans?

got 7 more jars of turnips in the canner right now. I think I over planted turnips this year

I have never canned turnips. How will you use those?

Do you dehydrate green beans?

Yes ma'a'm, I do. Today I packed them in 8 oz jelly jars and used the vacuum sealer to pull a seal on the jars. First time I've done it that way - so we'll see how it works. I guess I could've just vacuumed 'em in a bag, but thought I'd try the jars. I'll generally throw them in a stew or soup when I dehydrate 'em and they cook up real nice.

I have never canned turnips. How will you use those?

idk. never used them before. but I have 25 jars of them so I better figure it out. lol!


I'm thinking mixing them with potatoes and mashing, stews, stuff like that

Well, how do you eat the turnips when fresh? Canned is just precooked....mostly. Unless you slice fresh into salad, etc.

Turnips are good to eat raw, and you can pan fry them as well. They store really well.

I haven't had much luck storing them. in the fridge or out I seem to only get a few days to a week before they get soft and wrinkled
