Dehydrators empty😄 3 half gal jars worth. There's more to come. Ya never buy prunes with dried figs around

I've dried onions & celery this year, too. Looking for more apples, once prices drop in next month or so.

Need to can some tomatoes, they're low in pantry.
You are on a roll!

For the first time ever my fig tree let me down. It's taken some hard hits the last two winters. Some of the original tree has died, but there are new ones rooted from low hanging branches that will replace it. They made a few figs, but I certainly didn't get enough to preserve any - just a few that I ate right off the tree!

Oh, wish you were close!! Huge tree will be ripening in a week...we're talking an easy 150#. I'm thinking I'll pick & take some to the weekly produce auction.
Me tooo! This tree has been faithful for over 30 years so I can't complain too much. I'm going to take some cuttings and move them to a different area. It's a bit inconvenient where it is.

they have such pretty leaves on them i wish they were hardy enough to survive up here without having to bring them inside.

Those leaves, put in jars of pickles when canning keep them crisp. The tannins.

Your old tree will probably rejuvenate to some degree. 3 yrs ago my friends suffered badly from a freeze. But, 2 yrs later it was young again. Gotta be close to 30 y/o. Was grown when they bought the house over 25 yr now.
