So far it's been good. I've only used them with BWB. They were easier to use than I expected. Just a little different process than metal lids. You have to put the sealing ring, lid and band on the jar, tighten it, then turn it back 1/4 inch before putting it in the canner, and tighten the lid immediately after taking out of the canner. I've used the tattlers a few times now, and like them - I really love that they are reuseable.noobiechickenlady said:VickiLynn, have you had good experiences with the Tattler lids?
I found 4 more gallon bags of blackberries in the freezer last night![]()
Oh that sounds interesting....can you share the recipe?VickiLynn said:How about caramel apple jam? I made that to give last year and it was a big hit.
I've lots of gala apple rigjht now and that sounds like a great way to use some up!
We froze 17 and a half lbs of sliced pears yesterday, cooked down and juiced 10 lbs, made seven 1/2 pints of pear jelly from the juce and canned 9 pints of fruit cocktail and still had a tone of pears left over (and pear juice). Still trying to decide if I want to make more jelly or drink the juice. I've been canning all morning and the pantry is very pretty now with all the different jars. Oh and the chickens and family members all got there full of raw pears too! I don't think I've ever canned this much in one day but it was fun! :bun
