Got a spring project or a few? This is one of mine.

I’ve just about completed putting a new roof on this little garden shed. I’m using cedar shingles — a local product. I took this pic at the end of a work session. The job will be finished tomorrow, I expect.

Anyhow, started this thread to find out what others here are doing.

Here ya go, Joel...my latest project.....

This is a little swing/glider I built from the legs of an old table and a wooden toddler bed frame we got at GW for $10. Other than paint and hardware, that's all that's in it. The frame has been sitting under my carport for a year, awaiting a new life and now it's got one. I modeled the design after an old glider we have in front of the garden as much as I could.

Got a few safety adjustments I want to make on it, but for now it's mostly finished.

Oh, and that color? Grandgirl said she wanted it pink. My son says it looks like Barbie puke, but she'll be pretty happy with it. :D

I'm building another commision of my EB2-4 (Electric Bass model 2 - 4 string) guitar out of black walnut. I'm about done with it, just need to do the wiring and final setup.

Then I'm going to fabricate a steel triple alternator bracket for the veggie hauler. Why??? Well beside the radio and amplifiers, I also want to put on a big electric winch, snow plow & a DC to AC inverter - so I can run electric power tools off the truck. Basically the veggie hauler will become a better work truck than it is now.

Joel, today I bought all the supplies needed to fix the rusty wheel wells on my CRV. $150 worth of DIY supplies and a step by step YT video are the things dream are made of. I'll take befores, durings and afters.

This is the vid I'm using...I like this guy, he's really good at explaining without taking too long to do so, he does a thorough job of it and is comprehensive in his explanations.

I've never done more than a few light putty jobs on bumpers and such, but not with an eye towards making them look right...just in making them legal and able to pass inspection. This time I want it to look good when I'm done as this is our go to car and I love it. We keep up maintenance on it religiously, just trying to extend the life of it as long as possible.

After this, I just may get me a little solder kit and fix the clock on this car too...found out how to do that on this make and model of car also.

I LOVE YouTube for this reason...all the things you'd never find out how to do in a local library, you can find out on YT.

A year ago I built a playhouse for my grandkids. That became a greenhouse for the winter. This spring, we planted many more fruit trees on the terraces where the playhouse was. Today, we took it apart in sections, and moved the playhouse/greenhouse out of the orchard to the back property line. In the winter, that area gets a lot of sun, and is much better protected from the wind. And the grandkids are a year older, and don't need it as close to the house. And now I have a spot for a second peach tree in the orchard. It was a big job that needed to be done.

Here's a picture from very early spring. Since then, the entire area in the forefront has been fenced in, and covered with several big round bales of 2 year old hay. Raised garden beds have been filled and planted, and about 15 fruit trees were added to the terraces in back. It's hard to see, but the old neglected fruit trees have also been pruned back pretty severely. And now the play/greenhouse is moved out of that area completely.

I look forward to those pics.

Your get-in-and-do-it habit is impressive, Bee. You sure don't lack for elbow grease!

I'm with you there. And I just recalled that, years back, I started a thread (and bumped it a few times) about "learning styles"... Like directly from-from-a-person learning, book/magazine learning, silent observation, youtube or video, and more. The thred got a bunch of interesting replies.

Awesome work! Love it! And pink too - which is my favorite color. <--- I know it rather strange for a guy, but what can I say... at least I'm honest :)

@Beekissed the glider looks great! The pink is fun.

@CrealCritter that looks like a work of art. Beautiful.

Don't be fooled to much... i made up a bunch of router templates and jigs so I can duplicate the model pretty easily... If all goes according to plan I can make my EB2 model in a flat top and flat back semi hollow body from rough cut sawmill lumber to playable in under 20 hours. Although actual time is about a week for all the different glue ups and finish to dry. Theres still a lot of hand work involved like a lot of wood shaving and fititing and scraping all the binding though. It's most definitely a labor of love.
