Be sure to call and tell her, so she takes them out....they'll rot in this heat!

Cabbage is 89cent a# here. There's a lot of pounds there!! 😊

My garden was watered last night, about 3/4 inch. Got another 1/4" about 4:30...possible light shower tonight and same tomorrow late day. So I'm happy cause pastures were crunchy in some places.

Oh, I got 4 zucs and 6 crooknecks....think I'll dehydrate it tomorrow! Save freezer space for other stuff. It rehydrates really well. 👍 The mandolin makes slicing fast...if you WATCH YOUR FINGERS. :epthey slice fast, too!

@FarmerJamie what is that plant on the first picture with huge leaves?

@flowerbug waiting on Amazon to deliver them. I have very sandy soil. But I have frames that I can put cardboard and newspapers and the the bag soil. How deep would it need?

Well after surviving 3 excessive heat warnings, every early jersey wakefield cabbage planted, headed, some smaller than others but I'm totally amazed. The little cabbages that grow between the leaves, are a real sweet treat to eat right off the plant 😋

I've still got more cabbages to give away. Think I'll sneak some onto my neighbors porch tomorrow.

If you got the means to start them indoors during late winter and early jersey wakefield is good for your zone. Give victory seed early jersey wakefield a try for plant in spring harvest in summer cabbage. It's a tough cabbage to survive what we just went through and still head. Victory seeds seems to have really solid preformer with their early jersey wakefield cabbage line.

Looks good @FarmerJamie - looks like you haven't forgotten how to garden!

I picked more okra this evening. Filled a two gallon bucket to go with the two gallon bucket I picked this morning. I guess I need to make some pickled okra tomorrow to go with all the dehydrated (c)okra, lol. Cooking it as fast as I can also.

More refrigerator pickles coming up too.
