What did you do in your garden today?

Yippee!!! I am waiting a week, our house is a little warmer than last year ;) I dont know what kinds I have, we just call them yellow and red ;)
I believe that the yellow onion variety sold as sets here are Stuttgarter. I'm trying to find something better. Ailsa Craig is not a storage type. It's a novelty onion because they can get HUGE. If they grow well I'll fill my freezer with onion puree - it makes a lovely cream sauce base. Then I'll start giving them away!

I didn't think about freezing puree. I always freeze chopped. Puree would do fine in soup bases and is easier to make.
