What did you do in your garden today?

we walked around and looked at the gardens and saw our first flowers (the short blue bulb irises). and then i did some weeding for a few minutes. i was very excited! nice sunny day and even fairly warm for the end of Feb. tomorrow's forecast is even warmer.

Wow...sun is out! Ground is wet!! Rain last night.

So much I want to plant beyond the typical veggies to eat/can. Where to plant? How much? Will it work? Harvest issues, time issues, fence issues, pastures to work.

Yeah, lotta things this year beyond the table. I'm feeling anxious -- in more ways than one!

Sunny, warm on south side of house -- so put seeds into the starter packs I had filled then into the little greenhouse thing -- which was noticeably warmer than outside it but, not hot. Now I have a start -- just hope I get some sprouts . About 400 seed put in so should get something, eventually

Cabbages -- red, savoy, grn flat dutch
Tomatoes -- yellow plum, Cherokee purple, mtg lifter, another canner type, a red cherry & red paste
Peppers -- sweet, red, orange, black, green & Jalapeno, poblano
Cauliflower -- white, purple, yellow

Still eggplant to go. Most all else will be direct sow once it warms. Peas can go as soon as tilled, cooler ok. If I thought that was busy, wait until planting!

Maybe I'll sleep better tonight!

Not much to do with the garden. We're under a blizzard watch until the 3rd. I was trying to thin out my carrots and just got frustrated so I said forget it and went out and pulled a bunch of stuff for the rabbits.

if you get upland types you can grow it anyplace with a long enough season... (just enabling...)

i went outside long enough to check the propane tank. that's not gardening, but at least it's in the right direction...

first cabbage seeds have begun to sprout!!

Cauliflowers too! peppers & tomatoes take longer but, later this week should be poppin. . Happy dance.
