Wow. Loaded!!

It is right next to a Canada Red Chokecherry that is not quite ripe yet but the robins started on it yesterday and have it nearly stripped today. They haven't touched the yellow ones yet. They normally leave the yellow ones alone until they are dead ripe or I start picking them.

When I start picking them, the robins get right in the tree with me and scream at me while I am picking..

They are less astringent than the black ones. They are also more likely to get ripe without the birds eating them than the black ones.

I have a Canada Red Chokecherry right next to the big Yellow Chokecherry. It never got ripe enough to pick before the robins had completely stripped it of all cherries leaving the yellow one untouched.

It is also nice that the seeds from the yellow ones will produce new yellow chokecherry trees.

The yellow ones bloom about a week later than the black ones.

FB is at it again... She taught me how to pick the ideal tree ripe peach. She said if it's cheeks (where it's attached to the branch) are soft it's ready to pick. How exactly she knew this is a mystery, but she is correct.

Seedling peach, i'm just happy they are clean. Loring peaches are still rock hard.

Tree drop from this morning. It's supposed to be relience (yellow flesh) but its not. It's a Belle of Georgia or sometimes called Georgia Belle (white flesh). FB said: "delicious, just as good as red haven" she asked for a row of these also. I said: aye ma'ma.

Clean & free stone, skin slips very easily.

Delicious in a bowl of homemade baked granola and milk for breakfast.

First two tree ripe golden delicious apples. Apples are easier to tell when they are ripe than peaches, because the stem dries out and they fall to the ground. Sure you can pick from the tree them when the stem turns brown. But absolute ripeness is when they fall to the ground on their own accord. I still like morning peach falls though. Just means you need to eat them immediately, it's a horrible job but someone has to do it. Apples can store for a little time (varies by variety) before they are eaten.
