Well, it turns out they weren't chanterelles. I got a look at some detailed pix online last night and then checked out the shrooms at the park again today. The park mushrooms definitely had gills, whereas I read that chanterelles do not. Does this sound about right?

Wonderful--thanks! Yeah, these had super-fine actual gills, not the ridges that I see and read about with chanterelles...

I'm taking a wild edibles class.

Today, I foraged for grasses, arrowhead, dandelions for my rabbits. Three days in a row of giving them foraged greens plus free alfalfa hay from a neighbor. No pellets!

And I came across acorns while I was out doing that. I filled up my pouch and marked the spot to go back to later today. I'm pretty excited about that.

Tomorrow I'm going to my parent's house. I can get a lot of wild (feral?) apples for baking and for the rabbits. TONS of acorns! And lots of raspberry leaves for rabbits. There might be some rhubarb left too?
