i signed up for a notice when lids came in on filmore containers--bulk and got one a couple of days ago, bulk package of 175 gold lids(regular) for $73.00, shipping was really high maybe because i also ordered some 26 oz jars and also some bands but still, i should be good for quite awhile on canning, didn't really need the jars but thats one thing that i buy for enjoyment (i like to garden and can) ,so who am i hurting? plus, we do like to eat lol

I was at the local Mennonite store the other day and was talking to a lady while we waited in line to check out. She confessed to grabbing the last roll of lids that were on the shelf last summer. I am not sure if it was 50 or 100
lids in that roll. The loll of lids are about 14inches long...

Didn't need the 10 boxes of wide mouth lids but it didn't hurt to add to my supply. I left 61 boxes for others sitting there

I have and have used the tattlers. Like them well enough, like the reuse ability even more.... a little different method for the sealing, tightening down....

Just to let people know that ULINE, that I got some lids from earlier... now has a limit of 25 pkgs (bags) of the standard lid. They are 2.40 a dozen... and then for me shipping is ab out another 1.00 per bag.... 24.00 shipping for 25 bags ( 1 dozen per bag, just like a box of 1 dozen)... Only has the standard size, no wide mouth...
None at the stores around here yet.... Lehmans had some Ball lids by the box/dozen; but none of the bulk lids that come in the sleeve.

Lids are good for bartering around here right now.

I'll probably buy another dozen wide mouth lids for my stash.

Mom told me I need to trade some boxes of lids for some of my uncle's salsa. She says it's the best she's ever had and my brothers can't convince him to part with any. He does trade though.

O goodness, you brought back memories of canning jelly with wax. I remember helping my mom and grandmother with that. My Home Ec project in High School was making Grape Jam with the paraffin top. (Made A+)

I understand where you are coming from, I have to force myself to toss out a container when it looks to be in good condition, and to think I threw away good lids.

all winter we'd be buying cottage cheese containers and Mom kept wanting to throw them away, i wanted to keep them because they are thicker and sturdy.

sure enough, this summer with all the cucumbers we're turning into cucumber salad and giving away we're already out of containers...

me too. I stocked up on jars as well.

Ditto, here as well. The minute CV hit the news, I looked at DH and said: This is not gonna be pretty. We need to stock up and prepare to hunker down. He thought I was over the top, hallucinating, crazy. Didn't take him long to come to agreement with me. No need for all the hype. But, it is what it is.

IMO, the situation is being used to topple the constitution, and push socialism. I sent hubby to p/u groceries for my parents last week. I asked him to pick up cream of chicken soup. He got THE ONLY CAN in the store. He showed a lot of pics of totally empty shelves. And, we are at a time of the year when food should be plentiful. Hang on to your hats, folks, b/c you can bet that a panic wave will hit this fall. Store shelves will be completely empty, there will be fist fights over the last bit of ANYTHING on the shelves, and the riots will continue and worsen.
