I tried to move my old wheelbarrow with the potatoes planted in it last night. Got halfway to where I was going and the wheel seized. Momentum meant the top which was already half broke and rusted tipped and broke off spilling out my lovely plants that were almost ready for the first hilling. I wanted to cry. I carefully got them and almost all the dirt back in. Had hubby help me move it and watered them. They look fine today even it not so neat.

Amazingly even with them dumped upside down the only casualties were a couple leaves and one small stem.

I weeded onions. I'm trying something different. I'm considering weeds as "green mulch". I haven't been pulling them. Okay, I pull anything that's big enough to compete. The rest I tear up like ripping grass and leave it in place for mulch. If I keep up with it, I expect my onions will be fine and weeds will make a sort of short groundcover around them.

At our old house, we got some kind of native groundcover weed in the garden. It was lovely, we barely had to weed once it got started!

Planted my oregon grape into a large pot until I decide where to put it. It will grow anywhere here other than in the water.

Planted 3 large pots with morning glory, moonflower, and cardinal vine. I'm thinking of putting them under the apples and letting them climb. I just got rid of the invasive bindweed, but I liked the looks of it. None of these three do well here in our soil.

Got the family out there pulling weeds this morning. Seems we dont have many weeds but grass is an issue. I guess i didnt get all the roots out when i tilled the plot.

Grass is very hard to get rid off, leave the tiniest root and they come back!
