Seeds planted Friday. The hibiscus and salvia started sprouting this morning! Still waiting on the peppers and egg plant. Time to plant some more pots. Tomorrow will be a perfect day to play with seeds.

Planted some Ailsa Craig onion seed (last year's seed, so it may not sprout), and Early Jalapeno, Spacemaster Cuke, Mammoth Basil, and New Zealand Spinach. Potted an other Basil and Pineapple Sage cutting.

Beds in greenhouse are still frozen, so no big rush to start sowing in there!

Dear Abby, do I have a problem?

Probably

I use the coffee cups -- free! -- for seeds. AND I often use the pkgs from tomatoes, fruits, etc. Plastic with lids, like little greenhouses. Again, leftovers from work -- free. I love free :D

I'm so anxious to garden but, haven't even started one seed! Well, next week outside work is slack and It's rain all week -- perfect, I'll be stuck inside so, may get soil, pots, seeds moving along. The barn is dry & pretty warm. No frozen anything here! Week of rain coming tonight and hope the till after that ends. Then my cold weather seeds go out...peas, chard, cabbage, etc. :clap I have a LOT of hay/straw & goat berries to mulch with from their barn. It will be a major haul day. Fill front end loader, drive to garden, dump, repeat. And have cardboard stacked in barn. Grow little seeds!

I would like to get a window garden going for lettuce and spinach, but the only window that would work in this old house is inaccessible right now. I may just start some seeds anyway and get that room cleaned out next weekend. We are still in the depth of winter here...

Can you hang a shop light somewhere? And, if you start seeds this weekend, they'll not need light until next weekend. (I'm an enabler.) It's early yet to be starting seeds, except for onions. The only reason I'm doing so is that I can move them on to big containers, and finish them off in a cold frame, the green house, or most likely, a portable greenhouse that I roll in/out of the garage so it can be in the garage at night when frost threatens, then outside for the day. It gives me a huge head start on the season.

My first pepper seedling sprouted today. Not bad: 7 day germination rate!

You are causing me to sin. I covet your barn and tractor. And perhaps, just a little bit your goats. Well, maybe not your goats, but certainly your goat berries.

Same here, LG....love me a barn and a tractor, but I'd switch the goats to sheeples for the berries. :D
