What did you do in your garden today?

I found some 30x7 inch planters for out by the chicken coop on sale for $7.49 (got 6) at Fleet Farm and I was able to find beet seeds. Seeds here are almost sold out already at the local farm store. I also was able to pick up a 50lb bag of oyster flakes for the same price that I get the 4 lb for from Scratch and Peck directly

Started clean-up and did a little tilling. I had put cardboard down back in fall to try and block weeds. A few weeks ago the neighbors chickens got in and shredded a lot of the cardboard so it was a huge mess. I raked all that up and burned it along with whatever other debris I could find.

Spring break is next week and generally I try to get a hunk of my garden put in, but not sure it's going to be warm enough this year. Just have to get ready and watch the weather.

they were probably going after the worms. worms love cardboard. i would have buried that stuff and not burned it. prime soil goodies.

It froze again last night. So cabbages and onions hardening off starts today.

That means I have an open shelf for 4 more flats. I think I'll start asparagus seeds, maybe - IDK... Have to study up on the depth requirements.

I guess starting asparagus from seed it is.

I shoveled off the 3 inches of snow from the garden beds that were clear yesterday

I spent about 15 minutes trying to straighten up my crooked rows. Then I combined two rows to make a double wide row for planting zucchini and maybe some yellow squash. And - I planted a tub with some potatoes. Still have tons to do! Rain is in the overnight forecast. A little is good... but too much is just too much.

Filled some tubs with dirt and planted lettuce, onions, radishes, carrots, and replanted a maple tree I had in one of the tubs until it got big enough to put in the chicken yard.
Tried tilling the garden but its still too wet.
Its suppose to rain some this week so it will probably be next week sometime before I can try again. That is if it doesnt rain some then, too.
Going to cut up my potatoes to harden some before planting in the tubs, 5 gallon buckets and clothe bags. Im planting Yukon Gold and Kennebec.
Probably will plant beets, tomatoes, peas, green beans, onions, cucumbers, maybe Swiss Chard, and peppers in the garden.
Once its tilled good I can lay diwn my weedblock and start planting.

I started more seeds last night! A few were 2 weeks early but I didnt want to wait!!
