What did you do in your garden today?

It rained yesterday and Saturday so I don't have to water for a couple of days. I'm really hoping that the corn does good this year. I would love to have corn from the garden in the freezer at Thanksgiving and surprise the grandkids with it. They love corn on the cob.

Yes. I planted some bean seeds around the entire area that I planted the corn. I'm going to try to get more eucalyptus debris to put on top because the house we had years ago the horse pasture was amazing for growing corn. Lots of eucalyptus trees.

We had our last frost a couple weeks ago so I got some beans planted outside. I got around 10 or so random old green beans planted in the two raised beds and then 2, 5 gallon grow bags with 4 beans each. One with Vermont Appaloosa and the other with light red kidney beans. I have around 50 more grow bags plus around 40 pots so I am planning on around 30 or so more 5 gallon grow bags just for beans lol

I planted some more radishes today. I also took a few catnip cuttings to propagate

The catnip here is about 1.5 feet tall. I didn't pull all of the ones out of the inside of the chicken pen. They will be pulled after I cut some this summer when it's closer to 5-6 ft. I only like it on the outside of the pen, but no birds in that one at moment.

What do you do with it once it's cut? Do the chickens eat it? I think that was something I read snake don't like due to smell

My chickens hate it. Wont brush against it.

I have quite a few relatives who like it for their cats. It just doesn't grow as well on the east side of the mountains. I've had requests for more.

My cats don't react to it. Probably because they are constantly around it. They do like eating the growth tips, just like they eat the soft young grass.

I am just watering and weeding right now. Waiting on the cucumber seed to sprout. I am disappointed more then 2 romaine has not sprouted, I may have to resort to picking up starts. If I do go back to HD, I think I want 2 red bell peppers and egg plant starts. And, as Farm math goes, I will most likely find something I dont need
