Ive got a pond, we've got huge goldfish (2 or 3) living in there for years, so I know things can overwinter. I have ducks.... I might want to stock the pond with fish for eating purposes. What would be my best bet? I live in zone 3, so it gets real cold in winter.... the pond is about...

I've been offered a Reel Mower, one of those round things that kind of looks the way I imagine a snow blower to look inside. swirly blade things that you roll around your yard to cut the grass.
I have about an acre of yard, and it's mostly flattish... I'm not in fabulous shape, although...

We are going to line dry our laundry all the time. We do at least one load a day, so there's a huge financial impact as far as electricity.
Also, will wash more dishes by hand, since I usually end up filling the sink with hot h20 for soaking, i could just scrub, use cold for rinsing. Also...

My kids and I went out foraging, and found about a half gallon of Fiddleheads. We picked responsibly, only 2 from each crown, so the plant won't die... I need advice though on preparation. I tried sauteeing them in butter, and it was kind of gross.. the kids were not pleased, and I ate them...
We have a LOT of trout lily, the yellow flower kind. The internet said it's good for making you puke... anyone have any experience with this plant? if/when TSHTF, we might need an emetic, preparation directions would be awesome. Thanks...
My friend has a sourdough starter thingy... i know absolutely NOTHING about sourdough. I've been making yogurt lately though, and I sort of assume it's the same thing... (correct me if I'm wrong!) Anyway, I'm bartering her a dozen eggs for Loafy's latest baby... I am very excited!!!

My grandma has apparently bought me, my sisters and my cousins a gold coin... one each. Each coin supposedly cost her around $1600.00 If/when she sends them out to us, i am unsure as to what to do with mine. should I keep it, and hope it increases in value? Should I cash it in, and buy...
I have a LOT of HP 129 ink, some HP 94, and some HP 88xl. I would love to trade for SS supplies, canning supplies, pressure canner, handmade stuff like aprons, dishtowels, seeds, or rootstock (asparagus, rhubarb or strawberries). I'm pretty open, and am sick of dealing with ebay.
as i am putting together my multi-pack BOB, I am thinking about antibiotics, and other stuff. are the animal versions safe for humans? what kinds of dosages? Purely theoretical of course, not expecting y'all to be doctors... but if you are....
I just got 4 packs of ponchos (2 per package) for a dollar each in the back clearance shelf of our Staples. they are bright yellow and adult sized. I am very excited to stick them in our pack!!
I happened to find a box of QuikClot nosebleed pads in the clearance section of my drugstore. I bought it (since it was $2), but wonder if you guys think i could use it on any smallish wound? Or just in the nose?
We're making our own yogurt. I can buy a half gallon of organic pasturized milk for 3.75... or a quart of organic yogurt for the same price... so we've gotten a quart sized yogurt maker, and can now make 2 quarts if homemade yogurt for 3.75... so half price!!! (we eat a lot of yogurt). IF...
I combined lavender and tea tree oil in a little sprayer, and apply one spritz to each pit in the morning. I still smell good now.. at almost 8pm, after a long day with 3 kids at a museum, carrying a backpack and running up and down a zillion flights of stairs. Also works great on feet.
I have looked at all these B.O.B. kit lists, but I have 3 kids, and there is no way I am going to be able to haul all that stuff anywhere with my little kids too. If I have to have just ONE regular sized backpack (EMS, or LL Bean school pack), what should be in it?
If I have a lot of time to...
I have heard a lot about having silver coins (pre 1965) to use as currency after TSHTF... how am I supposed to know how much they're worth, and how much should I have on hand?
