kids have been out of school for 3 days. 433000 people out of power state wide (and I work for the power co) including me. everything is covered in ice. not suppose to be above freezing for the next 4 days.
I have thought about the neighbor aspect of this - another reason they won't like me :D. But I am on 5 acres so it isn't a big worry. We are in the middle of a huge ice storm right now. No power for the last 24 hours (415000 out state wide). generator won't start so things are looking to...
I have thought about the no elect no pumped heat but i have an all electric house so I am SOL either way (thank goodness for the generator!).
Cutting the wood is not a problem. You wood is a little cheaper than it is around here. We are 35-40 a rick.
I have been looking at the hot water...
Who has them?
Who uses them?
What are the ups and downs for the ones that you use?
Anyone ever bult their own? what would you change if you had to do it over?
Ultimately - Is it worth the time and effort?
I would have thought it was a little to early for shed hunting. I am still seeing a lot of dressed heads out ther for them to be falling off but maybe I am wrong. I love the excuse though, it gets me and my boy out to the woods!!
i am having an experiment. I have decided that once a week my 14 yr DD will cook for the family. She runs a 100mph like the rest of the family does so she needs to learn about those extra things that have to go on like cooking and cleaning. Time for her to step up a little more.
