My two year old has them down very well thank you. My nine year old has them down even better. ;)

We've been learning British history this year and did some comparing of different governments during the election. About the same time my brother and his family moved to England. When my nine year finally figured out that was the same place that he was learning about (I've got a bright one ) he looked at me incredulously and asked, "but didn't someone tell them that they won't be free?" We hadn't gotten to Constitutional Monarchies yet. And he really didn't like Bad King John. Gotta love nine, it's a great age. Though how anyone can consider themself free paying 1/3 to 3/4 of their income in taxes is beyond me. And yet we do. Well, some of us anyway. Oh wait, I will not deviate from the thread, I will not deviate from the thread. Really.

Hi,

we place an emphasis on history here,

we too love anoldfashionededucation

love the baldwinproject (smaller than guettenburg, it concentrates on older children's text books)

beautiful feet has some nice old books that they have republished

not to mention that the christian liberty press republishes very old good quality history text books

I browse all these sites and try to find the original publication when I can
second hand and often much cheaper

and we just read the words of our founders, their diaries, and letters
I try to buy the books, as anyone with an agenda my only present certain parts or quietly omit some important ideas when they present them to you online,

but here are some nice online sources to browse

http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/eyindx.htm

http://www.questia.com/library/literature/famous-letters-and-diaries.jsp

hope there is something you can use here

Here's an idea!!!

Today's politicians need to do historical re-enactments from the times of the founders of the US!!! Say, maybe for 1 year??? How do you think they'd do??????

You have to wonder if today's politicians understand what their predecessors went through as they took a stand against the oppression of the British. Who today would pledge their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor for the good of the country? No, they are too busy taking bribes from lobbyists and meeting with their multiple mistresses in clandestined locations.

For me, the reason our countrymen do not know anything about the greatness of the founders is because values have become things to be ridiculed. We refuse to honor the sacrifices made for freedom because we know we, ourselves, could never stand the test. We stand for nothing, so we fall for anything.
