I didn't find a thread on crochet and wondered if there are any other crochet fanatics out there.

As a child many moons ago, I was bugging my poor grandma who was babysitting me, so she sat me down with some yarn and a crochet hook and said, here's how you make a chain. Fast forward a bunch of decades and I'm still chaining away and starting (and mostly finishing) new, challenging patterns all the time. (Everybody I know already has at least one of my hats and scarves.) I find the craft endlessly fascinating and it's a good substitute for one of THOSE days...

I'm currently drooling over a pattern I REALLY want to do but, unfortunately, it's in Russian. Google Translator had a nervous breakdown with all those stitch abbreviations and couldn't help me:

Please share any crochet patterns or projects you like. P.S. I do not knit since I am all thumbs trying to manipulate two sticks with no hooks on the ends, heh.

TwoCrows, those are adorable! You are very talented.

I tried stuffed animals for awhile when exploring different crochet techniques but always got so frustrated when trying to cram polyfill into all the crevices evenly. This one caused me to learn some new four-letter words but the happiness on my niece's face when I gave it to her made it all worthwhile:

When I get bored with one project, I set it aside and pick up another. With enough to-do's in the pipeline, I should stay busy for awhile!

Those tiny animals are amazing and the rug is awesome! I had a crocheted blanket from my great gran. She used (knitting) wool and sewed together crocheted squares. It was lovely.

Ah, the great granny square! I have a huge bag of partial skeins and other leftover bits of yarn and a book called 101 Granny Squares, so even that which is usually discarded can eventually be made into another afghan when I have enough to put them together. I enjoy being able to donate these to hospitals and charity organizations for the needy.
