I'm NOT Paying $5.99 a lb for a flat and a point.
Don't blame you!

I just checked the Kroger ad. They have 'em for $3.49lb. Might grab a couple for the freezer.

Another special delivery this morning. First time mama had a single buckling. Purdy little thing!

Pretty glad most of these mama does can take care of things on their own.

We've been in the hospital, again, since the wee hours of Monday morning. Got discharged today after much doctor bashing by me. There are some great docs and superb nurses at the hospital system in Galveston, but their endocrinology team sucks. They told me one thing last night and never followed through. By their omission of care DH's blood sugar dropped drastically last night and rose up to almost 400 this morning. Not good, not good at all. Yoyo blood sugars aren't good for the body.

When endocrinology finally showed up after giving DH NO care for 29 hours, I wasn't nice, and it wasn't pretty. The nurses however got a kick out of the whole thing, lol. They aren't at all opposed to a doc getting a good a$$ chewing because some of those docs treat the nurses pretty badly.

DH is weak as a kitten. Hope he can pick up his strength again and continue on with his Physical Therapy.

Just WOW! And he's got a built in monitor, right? Can't the doctors read that??? You do! Health care going downhill.....
He definitely does. However, he was on a hospital prescribed insulin drip and had to remove his own system so he wasn't getting more insulin than he needed. His overnight low blood sugar issues happens quite frequently at home. The difference is that when he's got his own unit hooked up we get alerts at certain set points. We set the alert at a point before he's in any danger from going too low. We treat it and go back to sleep. No muss, no fuss. They made us turn his unit off - no unit - no warnings. I could write a book about how horrible this dept is.

Wild night! Got one of those loud, blaring, obnoxious weather warnings at 3:30am this morning. "Baseball sized hail possible in your area by 4am." What am I supposed to do about it in 30 minutes in the middle of the stinking night?
Thankfully we only caught the edge of the system. We did get some hail, but nowhere near baseball size. Closer to marble sized if I had to make a guess. However, the issue is that we got 3.5 inches of rain on top of the inch we got yesterday. For the first time ever the driveway to the barn is underwater. First. Time. Ever! More rain predicted today - yay!

Some time ago I postponed getting the fish for the pond because the pond was totally out of banks. It's worse today. Guess where I'm going at noon(?) - to pick up the fish. Pond is out of banks even worse than when I postponed earlier. Yay! I'm going to be stocking my pasture with fish, lol. I do have the netting up between my side of the fence and the neighbors side but not convinced it's going to do a lot of good under these circumstances. Sigh...

Heard a baby goat screaming this morning so went out early - waaaaay before I was ready to be outside. Found not one, but two, babies in the wrong area. Took them back to their mothers and one mother is like "nope, you're not my baby." ARGH! I think she's warming back up to him and he's figured out to nurse when his sister nurses so mom doesn't bump him away.

DH is still weak and has had some problems with medication reactions. Adjustment will take some time I suppose. Had a gazillion calls from different medical offices yesterday setting up all his follow up visits. His current endocrinologist called personally yesterday to set him up with a visit to a specialist endocrinologist. I'm not sure about sticking with this endocrinology group, but we'll give them a try. Only thing convincing me is that they are NOT the hospital group. Next appt is with a heart failure clinic. Physical Therapy is coming out Monday to assess for the next step in PT. Part of it will likely involve cardiac rehab. The list goes on and on...

Not enough coffee in the world for me these days. :th
