Fun Ice Cream Flavors!

Hey BBH! :frow I was waiting for you to suggest lavender ice cream!
 
I make habanero honey ice cream for my sweet husband and chipotle agave for a friend. I dont have an ice cream maker, I have stand mixer that gets put in the freezer :) For myself I make key lime, or pineapple nothing really fancy.

Ldychef2k, that blackberry merlot.. Hit up your local brewing supply. You will find canned concentrates of nearly any flavor wine you want. Add the tiniest pinch of tannin and you are ready to go:) I've not actually done this myself but had the results in the most delicate and balanced merlot ice cream you can imagine.
 
When we would travel, if there was a Cold Stone Creamery around, I was definitely be there! Cheesecake ice cream with graham crackers mashed in, that was my favorite. Next up was cake batter flavor, or Jamoca, I even loved the White Chocolate, .....oh, by the way,

I'M GETTING AN ICE CREAM MAKER FOR MOTHER'S DAY!!!

That is me yelling!!!! It was probably supposed to be a surprise, but a package from Amazon came and I opened it. Hmmm. An ice cream cookbook. Then a larger package appeared a day later. I can't wait! I need to go buy some cream now so I'll be ready for Sunday.

Some of these flavors sound so good.... :)
 
Chocolate Chip/Cherry Cordial Ice Cream.

2 qt. half & half
6 eggs
5 c. sugar
vanilla extract (see below)
Some milk
1 package of Hersheys semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 jar of Maraschino cherries
Ice cream maker
2 (10 lb.) bags of party ice
1 box rock salt

Mix sugar and flour by hand very well. Mix on medium speed of mixer; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Slowly pour 1/2 of the half and half in. Mix about 2 minutes.

Add 4 tsp of vanilla extract or to desired taste. Pour into ice cream freezer and top off with milk until mixture is about 3 inches below top.
Add the bag of chocolate chips and the jar of cherries.

I have a large White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer and this will fill it up.

As soon as crabapples come back into season, I am going to try crabapple honey sorbet, can't wait!

When I lived in CA, we went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival and had garlic ice cream, it was surprisingly good.
