I emailed Tom (the guy that did this movie) and got a response!

(my email to him is at the bottom)
Hi, Angela --
I'm so glad you enjoyed Fat Head. Three times ... I don't think my own
mother has seen it three times yet.
I'd recommend reading more about statins on
www.spacedoc.net, a site
maintained by a former NASA astronaut and doctor who experienced very
negative side effects on them.
I also wrote more about statins in this blog entry:
http://www.fathead-movie.com/index.php/2009/12/14/more-on-alzheimers/
Statins have never reduced the rate of heart disease in women in any
clinical studies. The small benefit of them shows up only in men with
existing heart disease. Women with high cholesterol outlive women with low
cholesterol on average, largely because low cholesterol is a risk factor for
cancer and stroke.
My food log is available on the fathead-movie.com blog in the Helpful Links
sidebar. The specific page link is:
http://fathead-movie.com/content/MyFoodLog.htm
I didn't keep a log for the saturated-fat pigout month since I wasn't
concerned with calories or trying to lose weight, although I did lose
another two pounds. Basically it was all burgers, eggs, bacon, steak,
cheeses, cream, butter, plus green vegetables and a bit of fruit. It's very
common for lipids to improve on such a diet, as it's actually sugar and
starch that drive down HDL and drive up triglycerides. High triglycerides
are much more dangerous than high cholesterol per se.
Best of luck to you and your mother.
Tom

Hi, my name is Angela
We watched Fat Head this week-end. I ended up watching three times. I
loved it and even had my mother come over and watch. She's been on
cholesterol reducing meds for years. I wanted her to see they were actually
doing more damage than good. All my life I'd heard "low fat, whole grains,
that's how you lose weight". This movie was eye opening to say the least.
Anyway, the reason for my email is I would like to see Tom's food journal,
both the first 28 days and also the "saturated fat pig-out" phase. I know
he asked Morgan Spurlock for his journal for Supersize Me, but couldn't get
it. I thought since Tom showed how hard it was to get Morgan's, Tom would
gladly send his.
Thank you in advance,
-Angela
