Estimated cost to the private sector of this bill...hundreds of millions of dollars.

If this thing passed...once of the major companies to benefit? Monsanto!

they are discussing the bill on the Senate floor on CSPAN 2 right now.

the CSPAN 2 ticker says "vote to move forward expected at 6:30pm" it needs 60 yeses.

I heard the same; that's some scary sh*t. I looked at DH & said "Now you know why I want to grow more of our own food??" (Of course he just gave me a blank look.) :/

vote has been delayed until sometime tomorrow. i guess that means i'll be watching CSPAN all day, chewing off what little fingernails i have left.

Glenn said on his radio show this morning that the vote was delayed because of all the calls...apparently it's still expected to pass later today.

Just heard it passed the Senate, the House is expected to follow suit later this week...:/

apparently it has passed 73-25. it's interesting that they had to delay the vote because of so many calls about this bill and yet it still passed by overwhelming majority. they only needed 60 votes...
