The news today is getting to me, so I read thru this thread. News? A small earthquake yesterday in the SF Bay Area, another one this morning across the Bay from yesterday's quake, an private plane crash in Sacto today, a private plane crash in SF Bay Area today, and the whopper? ANOTHER oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, off Lousiana. Sheesh....

I have about 10 of the SSer's mailing addresses, mostly for bartering and that sort, but it could come in handy if contact via computer were to end. Then again, not sure how the normal postal services would be.

The largest problem I have with having everything handwritten in notebooks is organization. In my first notebook, compost bin info is followed by a recipe for a homemade facial scrub which is followed by my homemade laundry detergent recipe. Eventually I'll pull everything out and sort it into binders. Sheet protectors are a must! I already use them for my recipes to save them from being splattered, so I usually have a bunch lying around.
