SIMPLE White Sandwich Bread

darn ya'll killed me with this thread

right now I have a big ball of dough rising in the kitchen. Had to run to the store for yeast...yea I was out.

So tonight for dinner is chicken parm with fresh baked crispy bread.....AH, and making a few baguettes out of the other loaf.
wish tony was here so I could take a quick pic, my camera died but when they are done he might be home and I will snap a shot.

Ya, me too, FC. As soon as I get that gallon of yogurt in the cooler to incubate, I'm starting on some of this bread. Hardest part is deciding which recipe to try first!

my bread came out 'just' ok
for some reason it tasted very yeasty and its second rise didn't do well....huh
but toasted with some garlic butter it was perfect with dinner.

Hubby sure ate it up! the rest will probably be made into big garlicky crunchy croutons for my delish salads!!!

I used Miss the North's recipe today. Good stuff. I was surprised at how light it is!

I also made some Firecracker Cornbread that was pretty corny...I mean, could have had a little less corn and more red pepper flakes. As if I could eat the outside where the red pepper is anyway!
