Sufficient Self Journal Section

As requested here, we're going to give the SelfSufficient Journal thing a try.

I'm pretty open to however we want to do this, but I do have one rule:

RULE #1 - Your Journal MUST start with your username. For example:

Nifty - Here's my sufficient living journal!

Go ahead and post other ideas and suggestions and we'll see how this goes.

I just had an idea... we could use this as an "introductions" forum too. Kinda matches with the general theme, right? Post about yourself and then keep a journal?

Maybe each new journal should have that filled out, or something similar to it?

Just be careful of some of these questions, someone just did a similar one on BYC and it caused quite the uproar over the religion question.
In the spirit of keeping the peace I would not ask about religion or politics.(not that you asked about politics)
If its suppose to be fun I would not get that personal. I never would have thought anything about it except that I just saw that thread on BYC.
It got ugly fast on that thread and its too bad because it took away from the point of getting to know each other.
Its titled- Tell Us About Yourself- and you can check it out and see what I am talking about.
After reading it I didn't even bother posting because I was turned off by the fighting.

Very good point! I wonder if it would be a bit less of a problem if instead of "everyone post your info in one thread" it was "every thread is just about one person" that way if someone doesn't like what they are reading they can avoid that person's journal.

Thats a great idea, using the template of questions in your own section. That way it is strictly about that person and not open to someone else's comments or interpertation.

That's what I did.

And after the newest thread I read on BYC, I don't think I will be going back there much anymore.

Except maybe to update one member on how the chick I hatched from her eggs is doing.

I read a few posts of it and left. No posting there for me cause I would cause trouble big time..HA HA HA

BYC ain't for me...LOL---while I know some love it and pick and choose what they want to read, it just doesn't suit me for some reason.

Yes, that was the thread.

I did post to it, then edited out what I posted as I didn't feel it was important, and better to not be involved.

Our economy is going to he** in a handbasket and people are arguing over whether religion and politics should be allowed.

Good grief!

I have found that I like it here sooo much better.
