parrots the same beliefs
I wouldn't exactly call it parroting, as this denotes a certain mindless repetition of another's thoughts. It might surprise you to find out that not all who profess Christianity believe the same things about God and the Bible.

Yes, I believe this qualifies as a discussion, although we have the same basic belief structure. I believe the OP was about censoring radio transmission of Christian programming...some of us agree that this could happen and some of us agreed that this may be a hoax.

And I think this discussion is going down the road I tried to avoid. There are better places to debate the different beliefs vs. science out there, and no one here is going to change anyone's mind, so let's get back to worrying whether or not they're going to censor Christian TV - something I think would be very wrong.

As I have said before I don't believe they should censor anything on tv religion included. I do believe the E-Mail to be a hoax. If you kept religion off tv and the radio it would cause a big civil war and the government knows it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to directly offend anyone if I did. I just got a little annoyed by the way the topic was going..

Anyway, the government can't force the stop of christian talk on airwaves. Its called freedom of speech. In my school, we still had prayer, it just had to be led by a student and other students chose not to participate if they wanted. Being from a very christian community, I don't remember anyone not participating.

I prayed in school as well. I even had my pocket New Testament on me most of the time. Nobody stopped me from praying or reading in my own during recess and when my work was complete. Nobody told me I had to do it either and that was the way it should have been.

My stepsons public school even had an elective course that he attended last year. It was christian based and church funded but he had to walk to an off campus building less than 100 feet from the school to attend. I also had to sign a permission slip which I gladly did. It was his beliefs and I supported him in that even though I no longer share them. I see no problem with that because the school is not forcing anything on anyone.

I wonder if this could really come about....now that we cannot access TV "waves" without a little black box(that the government helped people purchase). Maybe this is one step towards being able to limit our access to certain programming in the years to come. :idunno

... little black box...that sounds a little scary:>) I heard the other day that here in Canada you cannot get any programs at all with rabbit ears anymore, you have to upgrade those old TV's now. I thought that was starnge.
Maybe rabbit ears don't give them the ability to subliminal message...hmmmm is that just paranoid thinking:>) LOL!

I don't think there is much to worry about until we move into socialism. The cable companies want to make money and christianity is a big market.

I think the TV and radio thing all comes down to money. And so I think there's not liable to be a problem any time soon. As long as advertisers will pay for ads to run during Christian programming, it'll be just fine. And, since that programming gets lots of viewers, it's easy to sell to advertisers. Especially ones who are happy about targeting the "family values" demographic, an ever-popular one.
