Yeah, I am wondering if it was a quality control issue. We've purchased jars and lids all year. The lids are not consistent I am able to see subtle differences in the sealing rubber, some look almost sloppy in its appearance

So the canning efforts have cut down on meal making this week. No leftovers available today for lunch. Opened a jar of chicken to make chicken salad for lunch. Oh....my...goodness.....sooooo.......goooood

It is great! That's all I use anymore when I'm making chicken salad.

i've even seen quality control issues with the name brand lids so it's always a risk. at least when we take things back there aren't any questions asked.

Just an FYI - Walmart has 1/2 gallon jars back for 13.97.

21 quarts of tomatoes. Mom helped on the 2nd batch which made it go faster and i'm glad that she did. sometimes we're not on the same schedule but it worked out today and we had fun and got it done.
